The church was started in 1978 at Mijikenda Social Hall by Rev. Justus Muthoka Nzau.
In 1985 the church was under the leadership of Rev. Habert Kasiwa and after that Pastor James Ngumbao who took over from the year 1986.
Between 1987 and 1997 the church was led by Rev. Samson Kayama Cheu and there after between 1997 and 2018 the church was under the leadership of Rev. William Katana Nyawa.
From 2018 to date the church is under the leadership of Rev. Eluid Kalu.
